How to be a Lion

If you are interested in voluntary service work

If you would like to take part in noble projects
If you would like to be a part of an international network
If you would like to be a member of a big community of friends
If you would like to make a difference in your close surrounding with your work and would like to take part in making the world a better place then your place is among the Lions, because you are understanding, caring, devoted, and responsible.

A Lion

Members of Lions clubs help and strengthen their communities devoting their time and skills. Through the experience of service work, a Lion member can acquire new skills, make longlasting friendships, face real challenges as well as learn and improve a lot during the course of performing various tasks.

Lions clubs work for the improvement of the living conditions of the individuals or groups in need in their closer and wider communities. The greatest mission of the association is to help the blind and the visually impaired all over the world. Another significant undertaking is to run projects to help the youth throughout the world. The creed of the movement is to align volunteers who play a leading role in helping the communities, are ready to face humanitarian challenges, and work in favour of peace and international understanding.

What does it mean for me to be a Lion?

Every Lion devotes as much time to their service work as they can. Taking on tasks is voluntary but the tasks undertaken must be performed in the spirit of the Code of Ethics, with honour in the interest of those in need. What are the returns? The incomparable elevating feeling of charity, and new friends. Lions clubs are independent legal entities or associations possessing their own constitutions, making decisions about their own projects freely. Lions clubs are committed to stick to the principles of the constitution of the national Lions association, as well as the constitution of the international Lions association. The area of activity of our clubs is illustrated in the attached map. Find the Lions club that is closest to your place of residence! Enquire about their activities and join us! The Lions will welcome you and assist you in your work.

We call you to be one of us because we believe in this: the more we are the more we can help.
