International Peace Poster Contest
Lions Clubs Association of Hungary announces the national competition of the Lions International Peace Poster Contest every year. The association expects the active participation of each national club in publishing the local invitations to the competition since it is the clubs’ task to organize the local rounds in their own surroundings (involving schools, children’s teams, scout teams, etc.). Every club can send one single drawing to the Association. The Association then enters the winner of the national contest for the international contest.
The organizer of the International Peace Poster Contest: Lions Club International (www.lionsclubs.org)
The title of the competition: “Peace, Love and Understanding”
The contest is open to students between the ages of 11 and 13.
The full particulars of the contest, that is what each applicant must know:
- The artwork cannot be smaller than 33/50 cm and cannot be bigger than 50/60 cm. The drawings do not have to be framed.
- Only one entry per student is accepted, and each entry must be the work of only one person.
- All entries must be the individual student’s own, handicraft creation. Computer drawings, photographs, and duplications are not accepted.
- Accepted media: crayon, chalk, charcoal, pastel, coloured pencil, felt tipped pen, tempera, water colour, pencil and pen. Note: chalk, charcoal and pastel entries should be sealed with a fixative spray to prevent smearing.
- Three-dimensional entries will not be accepted. Nothing may be glued, stapled or attached to the artwork in any way.
- The use of lettering or numbering on the front of the poster is not allowed. All artist signatures or initials should be written on the back of the poster.
- Artwork should be done on a flexible material (paper), so it can be rolled for shipping in a mailing tube. Do not fold the poster.
- The name, age, school and contact details of the participant, and the name of the art teacher should be written on the back of the poster.
- Since in the international contest participants submit their ideas about peace along with the artwork, the creator of the artwork can write the meaning of peace for him or her on the back of the poster.
Entries cannot be returned. Participants agree to allow Lions Clubs International to use their entries for purposes connecting to other Lions activities (the purpose can only be of noble usage: postcard, logo, other illustration, or information brochure about the activities). The entries are judged on a local level. The best artworks of the region then enter the national competition.
Only one entry per country, that is, the winning national artwork enters the international competition.
